My name is Alina. I am 41 years old. I am from Poltava. In 2002 I was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment. Now I understand that it was God who hid me from this world where I would probably be gone. In prison I repented to God for my life. After I was released from prison I did not know at all how to live and how to behave in this world. Living in an alcohol-dependent family, I started using alcohol and drugs again and it destroyed me totally.

I was left alone with three children, of whom there were just born twins. There was nowhere to go back from the hospital. Nobody accepted me at home. Social service workers came to me and advised me to go to the rehabilitation center “Bertine House” for mothers with children because the question was about depriving me of my parental rights. The center staff immediately received me and treated me with respect and love, which had never happened in my life before.

After rehabilitation, I found a new life. God has restored me physically and spiritually. And now I am a happy mother and I live in freedom and enjoy my life. Thank God and those people who brought the atmosphere of love into my life and into the lives of my children!
